Ingredients

  • Cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Saffron strands – 8–10
  • Cashews – 10–12 (chopped)
  • Almonds – 10–12 (chopped)
  • Raisins – 1 tablespoon

How to Make Special Halwa (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Roast the Dry Fruits

Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a heavy-bottom pan.
Add cashews, almonds, and raisins.
Roast on low heat until lightly golden.
Remove and keep aside.

Step 2: Heat Milk and Water

In a separate pan, add milk and water.
Bring it to a gentle boil and add saffron strands.
Keep this mixture hot on low flame.

Step 3: Roast the Semolina

In the same pan used for dry fruits, add the remaining ghee.
Once hot, add semolina and roast on low heat.
Stir continuously until it turns light golden and aromatic.

Step 4: Add Milk Mixture

Slowly pour the hot milk and water mixture into the roasted semolina.
Stir continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 5: Cook the Halwa

Cook the mixture on low flame.
The semolina will absorb the liquid and start thickening.

Step 6: Add Sugar

Add sugar and mix well.
The halwa will loosen slightly at first but will thicken again after a few minutes.

Step 7: Add Flavor

Now add cardamom powder and mix well.
This enhances the aroma and traditional flavor of the halwa.

Step 8: Add Dry Fruits

Add the roasted dry fruits to the halwa and mix gently.
