Ingredients
- 2 medium guavas, washed and chopped
- 1 cup fresh coriander leaves
- ½ cup fresh mint leaves
- 1–2 green chilies (adjust to taste)
- 1-inch piece of ginger
- 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon black salt
- Salt to taste
- 1–2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon sugar or jaggery (optional)
- Water, as required
Method
- Start by washing the guavas thoroughly. Chop them into small pieces. If the seeds are very hard, you may remove them, but this is optional.
- Add the chopped guava pieces to a blender jar.
- Now add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies, and ginger.
- Sprinkle in the roasted cumin powder, black salt, regular salt, and sugar or jaggery if using.
- Add lemon juice and a little water to help with blending.
- Blend everything into a smooth or slightly coarse chutney, depending on your preference.
- Check the taste and adjust salt, spice, or sourness if needed.
- Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl and serve fresh.
