  • ½ tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ cup chopped mint leaves
  • ½ cup chopped coriander leaves

For Layering:

  • Fried onions (optional)
  • Saffron soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk (optional)
  • 1 tbsp ghee

Step 1: Prepare the Rice

  1. Wash basmati rice 2–3 times until water runs clear.

  3. Boil water in a large pot and add bay leaves, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add soaked rice and cook until 80% done.
  5. Drain the rice and keep aside.
